CalfeeChick Thank you for sharing. You are correct, it is an interesting article. Wouldn't it be wonderful to turn off the switch that causes the immune system to attack! Perhaps we will someday think of MS as a disease of the past.

Unfortunately, this article has been soundly criticized by many in the medical and scientific community for being highly misleading and irresponsible. It sensationalized very preliminary research and exaggerated claims for the purpose of attracting venture capital. The phrase "on the verge of a cure" was unfounded and a marketing ploy. Even if the fledgling research were to eventually pan out, it's MANY years away from being available. There is hope elsewhere, though - remyelinating drugs are in development, and still high expectations for B-cell depleting therapies longer term. We'll get there. 😊
