Depressed with physical changes, bacne

My body has always annoyed me. I'm sure it's something to do with female hormones and trying different contraceptions. I've recently got acne again, on my back. I've not been on anything since the pill last summer 2018 and then when the pills ran out I didn't bother as I'm single and don't really do the casual thing. I've had this bacne before and thought it was the arm implant but when I took it out, it stayed for several months still.

Also, it's hard to talk about with anyone even a GP, but I've noticed down there has changed and I don't know why. I noticed end of 2016 right at the time I took a 2 week dose of steroid treatment for a year long cough I suffered from. Sounds stupid but I don't know if that can change things down there as that's when I happened to notice. Basically, it looks different and labia has grown, more folds. It's actually affected my libido as I feel self conscious as it looks a lot different and don't feel good about it and worry guys would judge or that it just looks not right. I just don't understand the change. Has any other females had changes ? I've not had kids either. I even have had changes to discharge and more infections. I'm still waiting on a call back from the GP as I have expressed this and they said they'll organise an exam before any referrals to a gynecologist as I asked if I could see one, I'm just too depressed, insecure and confused by this. I never had anything like this before as I didn't feel abnormal down there at all but I've noticed how different it looks and don't know how to overcome this feeling.

Anybody who can share if they've had something similar of it changing would be helpful. Even guys' perspectives as I'm insecure about how a potential intimate partner would see or what you're used to seeing. Could you be put off? Do you notice how different your partners have been down there? What's normal?

And if there's any advice on treating bacne or what you think is causing it, like hormonal and contraceptives? What contraceptives could affect it? Either by helping rid bacne or are some known for causing it?

I've been on the implant for 6 years, June2010-June2016 with having to replace half way through as they expire after 3 years. It was around the first half of 2016 I got bacne. After the implant was took out, bacne didn't go until several months after. I have used the pill sporadically since with most recently around June, July 2018 then ran out and haven't been on anything since. I have noticed bacne again and maybe had for a few months now. I don't know if all this affects certain things, and how much it changes hormone balances and what to carry on with or do. I want cleaner skin. Also don't know how if any of this has affected me down there with the changes I have noticed. It's just all depressing and I've not had a partner for years. I don't have the libido, partly due to not meeting someone I'm really feeling something for but partly due to these changes and how I feel about it down there and the insecurity. Don't know what to do ๐Ÿ˜”.

You should try evening primrose oil capsules for acne it's the best thing also flaxseed oil would probably help all round too

They put women on progesterone contraceptive pill if they have a history of breast cancer so should not be taking estrogen however the progesterone pill can cause acne don't know if this applies to you or not

I had the combined pill to make sure shouldn't get acne and she recommended this one then on the side effects it says can cause acne even though it's promoted as alleviating. It's all annoying and confusing.

I can't take any form of contraception. Definitely threw my hormones out and that caused a cascade of problems. No those problems don't necessary disappear straight away and can take time or be permanent.

What is your diet like?

What is your home environment like? Is it clean? Moldy?

Changes down there happened to me while being exposed to microbes/mold without knowing. It caused UTI type things and thrush type things. I've read for some it causes inflammation down there and swelling because it's an external mucosal area, they're most susceptible.

Are you on any drugs at all?

Do you apply any type of chemicals to your skin or home?

As for worrying about the look.... Don't. I'm not a boy but I've had plenty of conversations with male friends. Girls are all so different, one doesn't look like the other and when a man is really horny, he won't give a hoot. Look doesn't matter. Functionality does, so focus on that. Healthy is good. Everything else just disappears when you ooze sexiness and confidence. Also if a man was "deterred by look" then you sure wouldn't want to breed with him because he'd be a half-wit. Neither penises or vaginas are "pretty" but they can be sexy as anything! Relax in the way that you were made, you're beautiful.

Something I found relief with was applying a couple of drops of pure essential tea tree oil into organic coconut oil and rubbing it externally. That relieved swelling and itching discomfort. I removed dairy and all ferments.

Please bear in mind my biggest problem was an unknown source of mold and contamination that comes with it. Look closely at your environment asap.

That's really weird that could cause something down there. My room is a nice one. There's some dark black mould on the windows but it's been like that for years. In fact when I noticed the changes I was living somewhere else and that was a very clean environment.

My diet is sometimes have a nice meal out,but mostly microwavable meals which are healthy ones , some even including 3 of the 5 a day. I could eat more fruit. I don't eat too unhealthily. I don't drink enough milk probably. I don't drink tea or coffee and I'm not a big drinker.

I first had thrush around Feb 2015 and since then I have had on/off infections or changes on discharge. Since late 2016 since noticing the physical changes, the discharge is still different, more of and different consistencies etc. I don't understand how it can change physically down there (externally) and it does make me more self-conscious as I know what it did look like and should to me. And I know they're not exactly pretty at the best of times! But it was definitely 'prettier' so it's hard to deal with the change. I just hope if I find someone I really like they'll be fine.

So your contamination of mould caused a lot of infections for you? I'll look that up, thanks. The only explanation I feel must be hormonal changes to cause external physical changes down there. Bloody hard being a girl! And thanks for your message ๐Ÿ™‚.

Mold is a massive problem. Get anything you have cleaned up, but I would not recommend you doing it yourself, simply because it sounds like you're affected.

Mold, it's by-products and the other microbes that cohabitate with it cause rises in estrogen. That's why hormonal changes happen. Yes they definitely cause infections, they were the first things that showed up for me and I've read that's a standard. Fluctuations in hormones can cause inflammation. Mold exposure is commonly called CIRS, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. Just depends where each individual is genetically weakest.

You described your earlier residence as clean. Mine for all intents and purposes looked clean, only after a busted pipe happened, did contractors find the hidden source. Since then I've learned often the problems are hidden in wall cavities or air conditioning systems etc. One contamination starts cross contamination is fast and then belongings become affected and the entire process is worsened because now even if a person leaves their home, they may be fully dressed in cross contaminated clothing and carrying a bag the same, so the exposure gets greater and longer, therefore the symptoms and signs steadily increase.

Just keeping all that info prominent in your mind because irrespective of when your problems started or what they're related to, mold/bacteria/contamination can all make it worse now.

I've read plenty about how microwaves explode some of the molecules in food, hence the hot spots that pop. This changes the structure of foods in a way that is not well understood. I saw plants watered with microwaved water and some without and the microwaved always fared worse. I tossed my microwave and only heat in the oven or saucepan now. I decided better safe than sorry.

It's very very hard to always make good choices with foods and we're all subjected to those difficulties in varying degrees. I offer you encouragement to eat as many fresh vegetables and fruits and fish/meats etc as you can. I too fall off the wagon from time to time, it's especially hard when you're hungry and in a social place, but try to treasure yourself and be kind... No-one else can or will look after you like you can. You need to be your own best friend and advocate.

When I made dietary changes I got the elusive victory over the itching, puffy, discharge issues entirely. Bladder problems also ceased.... Unless I pop a couple of berries in my mouth, then my bladder has quickly burned like fire until the offending triggers leave my system many hours/overnight later.

Perhaps with the contraception use that's kicked off some hormonal issues that's later been exacerbated by environmental exposure? I was prescribed the pill at 15 for irregular periods. I had ensuing severe migraines for the next 15 years. Then I had a Mirena device implanted, had a migraine so severe I didn't even recognise it as one and Drs looked for an aneurysm. Thankfully there wasn't one. I removed the Mirena at my mother's begging. What a miracle she is to me, I've subsequently had no migraine like that or the earlier for a further 15 years. Contraception can wreak havoc.

These are all things to think about and I hope some help bring you some more comfort and healing.

I completely agree with Saassii's advice.

It is correct that fungal infections wreak havoc on every part of the body, including the labia and vulva which can become swollen and elongated (but, I do feel that hormone imbalances play a role, as well.) If mold and fungal or parasitic infections are underlying, they will undermine every attempt you make at getting well unless they are kept under control. I say control because they are ever present and opportunistic little beasts. It is an ongoing battle, but definitely doable.

Taking an internal anti-fungal formula with herbs like Wormwood, Garlic, Pau D'Arco, Black Walnut Hull, Caprylic Acid, Clove, Nigella Sativa, and Turmeric and Ginger for healing and anti-inflammatory properties could be helpful. I am never without a bottle or two on hand. (Also, I take it anytime I catch any kind of bug, and it wipes it right out.)

I find that an OTC anti-fungal cream for vaginal yeast infections (Miconazole) is always good to have around. Use as needed.

A low sugar diet is imperative. (If you want them to leave: don't feed them.) :) ....And if you fall off the wagon, just get back on.

Contraceptives were a nightmare. If I could go back and un-ring that bell, I would. To be honest, I do not believe any woman's body truly recovers from them. But, that is just my opinion. Research says it can take two years or longer for your hormones to normalize.โ˜น๏ธ

As for detoxification of the liver, (which is necessary, especially when dealing with multiple sensitivities/ infections), I am a fan of coffee enemas and taking Milk Thistle, an herb which has protective and regenerative properties for the liver. You can read up on them. I find them very effective.

It is understandable how damaging external bodily changes can be to one's self confidence. But, I believe that by putting the good advice you have received into action, you will be on the road to the positive changes you are seeking.

All the best.๐Ÿ˜Š
