Lymecycline for Rosacea?

The docs think I have rosacea so have been trialling metronidazole cream. It's only really mild, I have a flareup on my forehead and cheeks which lasts a few days, goes really itchy, then stops, ends with little spots and dry skin. Then the cycle repeats. I've just finished a months course and went back for a check up, doc says because the spots are still there and it still looks a little flushed to try a course (1 month) of lymecycline tablets. Anyone used this?

I'm looking into natural alternatives; if anyone has any suggestions! I've started on monitoring my diet and looking for changes that result in flareups; I already limit gluten, dairy and red meat due to my endometriosis.

I’ve taken lymecycline for acne and it was really good for that. My sister suffers with rosacea and was prescribed a tetracycline which she found effective but took a couple months to kick in

The limecycline didn't seem to have much effect, it actually had more side effects.

Docs did a little investigating with my help, we worked out that as it's hayfever season I've been taking cetirizine which seems to keep the rosacea at bay. I noticed it only flared up after I'd done exercise (sweaty stuff) starting with a noticeable itchiness, and then stayed around for a week later. Then gone again. So as it's the itchiness that starts it, we've gone for doubling up the dose of cetirizine the day of exercise or when I notice it's itchy, then using hydrocortisone in the evening of that day or when I notice it's red. After a month that's worked well - no flareups.

So we'll keep that going and add soladex once a day for three months to really combat the remaining flushed look - two months later and it now looks normal :)

I bought some cream from the chemist called dermalex repair for rosacea and works brilliant. It not cheap about £20 but lasts ages as not much needed. I spent years on oxytetracycline daily previously

Hey I've been given these same tablets and I'm 2 weeks in and I've had a massive flare up I was given the tablets and the skinoren cream to help with suspected rosacea but I seemed to have developed loads of tiny spots all over my face and chest. It's really upsetting because I've never had something like this happen before.

Lymecyline has really helped my acne rosacea. It cleared up fairly quickly once I started taking it and I recently decided to try stopping it. Unfortunately it flared up again (very mildly but I’m taking no risks) so I’m going to continue taking it.
