my Halloween is ruined by the first day of my pmdd really kicking in I haven’t been officially diagnosed but my doctor and I have been talking about it and think it’s likely. For a week or week and a half of each month my ocd gets SO bad and also I’m crying all the time and I’m depressed. We’re changing my meds so I’m on luvox now but it’s not at an effective dose yet but I haven’t had any side effects which I know a lot of people get so I’m hopeful. I can’t start the birth control for pmdd yet since I can’t start two meds at once since I am “sensitive to medications.” I guess I have come to her with meds not working or making me crazier more than other patients. She is also taking my dose of luvox up slowly but I think I may call and see if she’ll up it again before my next appointment since nothing bad has happened. It just seems like it will be forever before I get my meds figured out and at the correct doses. I tried calling my mom to calm me down and she maybe accidentally made it worse. She brought something up and I’m resisting googling because I know if I do I will for sure obsess about it and right now I just MIGHT obsess about it. I get off work in an hour and then I can go to bed and we’ll see how I am tomorrow. This is mostly just a rant I’m not looking for anything in particular. It just sucks Halloween is my favorite holiday but even horror movies have me thinking “what if I do that?” or comparing how bad of a person I am to the protagonist like….lets chill, brain.

Do you do ERP therapy? It's good that you try to stop yourself from doing another compulsion which is googling stuff. How about other compulsions? Without feeding the OCD cycle with compulsions, the spike can't last too long. And again, I just want to remind you that your thoughts are not you and most of them are total rubbish anyway. ALL OCD fears are imaginary. In the end, it's you not loving yourself who creates that spooky monster in your mind. Learn to love yourself and not even the worst fears and worst case situations in life will make you feel that way again.
The contraceptive pill really can help with pre-menstrual problems, so when you are able to, it's worth giving it a go.
It might also be worth taking a vitamin B6 supplement, which is also known to help with pre-menstrual problems - make sure you don't overdose, though. The B family of vitamins are generally good for the brain, though for the most part you can get them from a healthy diet.
My local supermarket does an own-brand magnesium and B6 combo - magnesium is also good for menstrual problems, according to some studies and may help with stress and insomnia. Again, don't overdose on it.
