Have you tried looking into work from home jobs? Most are probably customer service type ones, but it would be easier, especially when dealing with OCD.
I too am in the same boat. Very introverted and suffer with contamination OCD
Yes, I am currently working remotely from home. But the job is still bad for my anxiety. I suppose I would do better with something like chat support where I don't have to be on calls, or something where I wouldn't have to interact with too many people.
Editing, working with Excel, paralegal, for starters. A local college near you will have a career center that can help you. Also, there are job interest questionnaires online.
Have you had a look at the Job Accommodation Network, AskJAN.org? I've found a lot of really helpful information there about how to accommodate various types of disabilities in the workplace.
I’m not sure if this will help, as idk if they have any near your area, but i know people who work for TQL (total quality logistics) and all they do is emails all day, and do research on the computer solely computer based. They never make calls or anything. It’s for an account resolution specialist. Hope this will help!
Could you provide a link to their website, please? I'm only finding a freight company with that name, and the job descriptions there don't quite match the job you described. Thanks.
Dear Tapes...
I'm also an introvert and kind of shy. In my current job I have to do quite a bit of cold-calling, which I find kind of nerve-wracking, so I feel you. I worry that people will be angry with me, hang up on me, that I'll be interrupting them, etc., etc. What has helped me is leaning into it--imagining a hand coming up from the computer to strangle me because I interrupted someone's lunch or work or something. I try to make it as gory and extreme as possible and when I smile or laugh then I'm ready to go. Sending hugs and sympathy!
Yikes - I'm in the same boat and Call Center sounds like pure torture. I am lucky enough to work in software, so I'm mostly left alone. The delivery ideas are good. I'm always thinking of what I could do if had to find something different.
