Have you been doing therapy with a therapist or working on OCD on your own? Have you don't much research on the different ways that OCD presents itself. All of the concerns that you mention are very common OCD topics. There are probably other areas of your life that OCD has pushed into as well. OCD can take over anything, especially if you are giving in to its demands for certainty.
Hi Selesnya sorry for late reply!
I am on waiting list for CBT and I have been doing it on my own for past year in work out at gym eat really well. I was doing Brilliant up to a few weeks ago I try to tell my self it's just a thought and I am not like any of me thoughts av been reading up a lot on it and know it is common to have these thoughts with OCD I go to a support group aswell. It just seems so real
In my young Hood I was negative about sex. It was effect of the culture into which I was born. In India Everyone is interested in sex but expressing desire freely is supposed to be a bad thing. As I was suffering from OCD this kind of mindset targetted me. I had sexual intrusive thoughts. I was getting panicked BT could not prevent those thoughts in my mind. This thing spoiled me for years. So, what is the conclusion is this that , if OCD sufferers suppose anything as a sin ,curse, immoral, bad then they will invite OCD to cause more and more harm to themselves. Try to interpret every negative thing positively. Think that we( human) are the predecessor's of race which killed crores of it's own race through battle. It's not negative in killing someone. It's just process to Ballance the increasing human population on Earth. To Ballance ecosystem .
Yes. This is a very common OCD symptom, actually - making you doubt having OCD to start with. That said, you don't want to use this information as a compulsion: just know that it's a symptom, which might well be indicative of having OCD, and find treatment.
Thoughts are just thoughts, they are not reality. U are getting anxious just by thinking that u would kill someone reveals u are good person. Believe in u. It's just OCD.
Ocd can be so overwhelming and debilitating when it takes over. I’ve had ocd all my life. Ever since I was a child I’ve had ocd. I remember all the rituals and compulsions. It definitely can take a toll, especially if theirs a stressful event in ones life. Any kind of stressful event acts as a trigger and the ocd can come on strong. I think one of the best weapons, so to speak is knowledge about ocd. I’ve learned so much about ocd recently that I feel the more I know about it the more I can keep it at bay. The most interesting thing is that the sufferer knows that what he’s doing isn’t going to determine an outcome, but yet he or she continues to do it. Anyways, I do think that learning more about ocd and it’s causes will help those who have it deal with it and keep it at bay. SAMSON
OCD will trick you into those are your real feelings and not OCD. OCD is a bully that pushes and tricks your mind. I have the same type of OCD. Remember the greatest trick the Devil ever played was making people think he didn’t exist, just like OCD. Keep fighting. God bless.
I'm so sorry that you are struggling. OCD always feels real, but it is simply a faulty perception of your brain. Even my typing this frustrates my OCD, as she (my OCD!) really likes to scream and yell like a toddler when I remind her that she is make-believe. My OCD always tells me that this time it is really OCD, that I really murdered someone and am just pretending its OCD, etc., etc., etc. That's OCD's best game! And everytime we respond, we simply reinforce it. The best defense is CBT with a therapist knowledgable in ERP, as OCD can be managed. Were you able to get in to see an OCD therapist? Remember, you are stronger than your OCD!
