OCD like a full time job

OCD is like a full time job.

There is therapy involved in everything I do.

OCD is constant.

It will pick on different things for obsessions, for which I have to keep doing the therapy techniques.

I always wonder what possibly can OCD focus on now ?

But OCD will dig into conversations and create fears which our irrational.

In addition, there are compulsions which are focused around checking.

Anything I do, basically involves checking.

I have to be doing therapy for it all the time.

Similarly, like in a full time job you have a major report to work on, but at the same time, you get so many different things to work on. It is endless.

In OCD, there is always a major theme in obsessions, which I am dealing with, but at the same time, OCD fixates on different topics, and causes so many different obsessions.

Thus, in summary, OCD is like a full time job.

It sure can be! And it’s not a job with good pay or perks ;) I have felt the same way - that OCD will find anything to latch onto at all times, and once some theme is better, a new one comes, or an old one comes back. I’m trying to practice a little mindful detachment (like “oh there’s OCD again, oh well...”). It’s hard! Wishing you the best.

Hi. I am sorry yoy feel that way. It seems you are so tired and also this "ocd surprise factor" can vbe terrible. I relate to that.

Maybe check if is it like a full time job or a full time fight.

On my experience one should not have a fight response to oneself. According to me is more like you should be on self love and come to terms with this illnes we have. Go to therapist. Also Look for alternative therapies and focus on things you do that are great.

I don t know what therapy are you talking specifically but don't let ocd rule your world. It is crisis time but it will pass. Be patient but don't give up.

I hope soon you will make peace and find relief to ocd.

OMG I agree with you so much! This describes my life perfectly xx I’m scared of my ocd, it’s like a monster, I wonder what it will pin on today, even with the lasting theme in the background, it’s so frightening x
