So I started to talk to my therapist about my erp therapy and she wants me to keep working on my drinking first. She said you have cut down, your back in gym, you practice exceptance and understand ocd, and practice mindfulness. She says erp gets worse before it gets better and I don't want you to relapse when you self medicate which I do with difficult emotions, which erp will make you extremely anxious and stressed. If it's not broke don't fix it as to be honest alcohol causes me anxiety the next day and it flares up my ocd. If I ever need it I can sign up for it again. I'm keeping myself busy and working on myself, so I'm trying.

I hope you get better. ERP has worked for me. Not completely but it did help a lot. Be healthy and take care of yourself as well.
Yes was doing all the wrong things to stop my ocd, drink, drugs, not keeping myself busy because I was to hungover, I'm trying to exercise more now, meditate, do courses ect. Thanks for your support, hope you will be OK.
Hello, I too have had problems with alcohol and have used it to cope with my lifelong OCD. 12 step groups can be very helpful and can compliment what you are doing in therapy. It is very difficult to go it alone to maintain sobriety- especially in this alcohol focused culture we live in.
Yes I don’t think alcohol and ocd are a good mix. It hasn’t been for me.
