My advice is not to control things beyond your reach. What other people think of you is unsolvable speculation. Ruminating like this is obsessive, and no obsession can exist without some kind of compulsive response.

So I ask:

Is your boss' opinion of you really worth your own self-control?

Find the self-confidence and self-compassion to say:

"I messed up today, but I'm a better person because of it."

It takes strength to admit your faults, to feel the weight of guilt, and to try your best everyday. Everyone messes up, but not everyone is as strong as you were today. Some people find it easier not to care.

That says a lot about you, and if your boss can't see it, that's because she's not looking closely enough.

You're not invisible.

I know that feeling. There's something I heard a long time ago. It's slightly depressing too, but it does help me. "If I'm hysterical, it's historical." Now obviously you aren't hysterical, but you feel bad. That's how it is with me too. Just can't get over feeling bad, so it might not be the situation right in front of us. I don't know if any of us can ever get to the root of all our traumas. But life can still get better. Do you like to get outside, or do anything like math puzzles or learn a language on Duolingo? What do you like to do that puts you in a better place? Kind of like pressing the "next" button on an album. There's kind of no way we can fix everything, so we just have to see that life is precious and not waste any more time feeling like crap. I feel for you. I also have to do a lot of praying. The Higher Power thing. You don't have to really understand how it works, but ask God for help, or Mother Nature, or the Creator, or your guardian angel. Whatever puts a tiny smile on your face. Just sit quietly and ask for what you want. The hard part is believing that by praying, you just put something in motion, and it might take a little bit of patience to see it come to fruition. If you ask the universe for something that will help you be a good person in the world, for instance to be happy and at peace and have friends, or get a job where you can work with good people-- whatever it is, just be sure that it's a humble and sincere wish. Those kinds of prayers really do get answered. Not, I need a Porsche. But maybe that sometimes works, haha. I like to pray while I'm walking. The walking helps with the anxiety. There are so many things that you can try, and something will work. But bottom line, life is good. You're part of life. So you are good too. I hope you're having a better day.
