Hello: Any help with intrusive thoughts... - My OCD Community
Hello
I suffer from intrusive thoughts also, and it does feel exhausting.
Thus, we have to let the OCD thought be there, but pushed into a corner.
There has to be no more discussion with the thought.
In the beginning there will be high anxiety, but it will get lesser.
The thought will slowly fade away.
We are leaving the thought just open, without giving any answers to it.
I hope this helps.
Thanks fot your reply,i know i should labeled as OCD ,im not diagnosed, but i feel like i have Pure OCD
yes, like desipurple19 says, let the thought sit, acknowledge its presence, but don't give it power. "Ok thought. I see you. I acknowledge you. Now I'm going to continue <insert ongoing activity here>." The more you try to suppress the thought the more frequent and intense the thought will occur. It's like if I tell you don't think about a pink bear...guess what you're going to think of ;p It will most likely be anxiety-provoking in the moment, but is worth it in the long run. Let me know if I can offer any other advice!
I feel exactly the same way like my life is being stolen from me I just take my medicine and keep plugging along
Don't I know it ? I agree. Ifind it draining.
Try starting with the least provokative ones first and find a distraction "if possible". Hope this helps.
