It's really hard to say if this is OCD or not. Tell us more. Why do you talk to you companion? What do you talk about? It would help to see some examples.

Hi Selesnya, so nice 2 rec yor response! I think I talk 2 my companion 2 fill in lonely intervals and I think Im keeping another person informed on current events. Diff. 2 xplain. I just narrate what im doing. Lonely too. Live alone. Make up companion from time 2 time. I'll think things 2 myself like "Im gonna clean off kitchen table now, then set self up w\coffee and start movie. When it's over it should be time 2 shower, then i'll sit bak dwn at table and really b ready 4 a cig, I'll hang all my clothes up cause i dont like leaving clothes over backs of chairs, etc. I'll wash last couple dishes & scrub sinks cause i very clean. I should mop flor around sink & stove at least. I should check bedroom drawer 2 b sure I have those bus. cards 2 contact so & so tomorrow about lunch nxt wk."So, Sel, just quick run dwn of few things. Sometimes, too, some stuff in my mental monologue does'nt even exist. So much, can't fit. Talk 2 ya later. thanx, bob.

Hi buddy - yes I experience the very same thing as you. I asked a therapist once about it and she said it just my way of processing information - but I don't think so. I'm sure it is my ocd and when I catch myself doing it I remind myself that there is no one else in my head but me and then it stops!
