hi i am ani .i am from india.to cope up with ocd u must understand the details of this disease.go through health magazines, newly published researches.bcoz once u understand the problem u r half done towards recovery. and ocd is desease like diabetes which stays in background till death but dont worry u can easily cope with it if u focused it on daily basis.and u can do great achievement in ur life as people with ocd generally tend to be more intelligent.so at first be grateful that u are tallented. 'exposure and response prevention can become ur greatest tool for recovery.watching wild life documentaries on sony bbc earth, discovery etc. ,focussing on diet that helps in sound sleep, watching comedy videos, expose urself to different experiences without thinkink that which experience will be helpful as actually every different and new experience is best for genius like us. if u hav trapped urself in room due to ocd then purchessing or bying things we like can help u get out of the house(means anyhow we must get out of the four walls),in case of lifestyle u need to go back to the basics lifestyle which our ancester lived because during past century the technology, lifestyle has changed so fastly as compared to our biological changes, phisiological changes and adaptations of our body that took about thousands of years of evolution.so it is never bad to be obsessed with natural ,less processed diet.

fighting with ocd
Hi, welcome Ani. I think that you're right about how to fight against OCD.
I've only fully realized this week that what I'm trying to go through in therapy is behavior modification -- that's really all it is. We are learning how to live with our anxiety and discomfort and do things anyways. The only way to get better at a behavior and to be more comfortable with it is to do that activity over and over. This means seeking out exposures that make us uncomfortable. This means doing the behavior despite what we feel and learning not to let our emotions stop us. Embrace the exposures, as they are the way out of being controlled by OCD.
Hi Philoso - Your post is so refreshing. I was agreeing with the description of OCD sufferers being intelligent, but when you called us geniouses, that made me smile. I love your spirit & common sense. Thank you for sharing.
Get out of these four walls. Thank you my friend, you just ended one of my cycles of anxiety with those words.
always welcome dear
