My name is Rosemarie and I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I am a filmmaker based in NYC who suffers with OCD. I am currently working on a documentary series to bring awareness to OCD and wondering if anyone would be interested in telling their story. Must be in or around NYC area.
Intrusively is a 8 episode documentary series that brings awareness to what it is really like to have ocd. A painful and debilitating disorder that is way too often misunderstood and not represented correctly in the media.
Every episode we will follow one person's unique experience with having the disorder, how the disorder has affected their lives, relationships and if the misconceptions surrounding OCD has hindered them from getting help.
These intimate accounts into the mind of someone with OCD should allow anyone watching to see how serious OCD is and it should never be mistaken for a quirk or used as an adjective.
As someone with OCD I will create a safe space for you to feel comfortable taking about your disorder. I know it can be scary to share your story but I believe by sharing your story you can make others feel less alone and inspire others to also seek help.
Much love!

I'd love to participate but I'm really far from New York I hope one day I get the chance to tell my story which I think is quite unique. Best of lucks!
Thank you for doing this. I'm not in a place where I am comfortable participating as my diagnosis is very fresh and my OCD has some aspects that are a bit embarrassing. I'm just trying to do my best to learn and improve right now. I definitely want to see it though.
I totally understand! I am so happy that you are doing your best to improve and learn! I know what it feels like to be embarrassed by your OCD, I actually still struggle with that myself. Just know you are not alone in your feelings and that there are many people struggling with the same type of OCD you are even if it doesn't feel that way. You got this! It will definitely be available for everyone to see. I'll update everyone on here when it is out.
