Having hard time finding the right med

Hi everyone! So for almost 10 years I was stabilized both physically and mentally on Greenstone official generic Zoloft but unfortunately they discontinued it and my life has gone downhill. For 2 years I've unsuccessfully tried other SSRIs like brand name Zoloft, generic Lexapro, generic Celexa but they either caused too much physical side effects, didn't help the OCD, or both! I'm currently on generic Celexa and want to make the shift to brand name because of the side effects.

To make things more complicated, I need SSRIs to walk because my autonomic nervous system is dysfunctional so I need the serotonin in more ways than one.

I'm honestly scared of the future because I'm losing my ability to function and take care of myself. My OCD is all-encompassing and completely takes over. I try hard to fight back with exposures but I make little progress. I'm just so mad that they had to discontinue the drug that was a near-perfect fit for me and thousands others.

Thanks for listening and may God give us strength.

I can not relate with your ANS disorder, but have you tried more "hippie" approaches to managing your OCD? Breathing exercises, stretching, herbal medicine, meditation, etc? I can definitely root for the positive effect that these practices can have on attitude. Attitude is our most powerful weapon against OCD.

Hi! Yes, I like to listen to relaxing meditation music like nature, oriental, and 432hz frequency sounds. I find it really helps me calm down along with my headaches.

Every so often I listen to guided meditations with progressive muscle relaxation as well. I actually have a 25 year old tape of my old doctor giving a guided meditation when I was at a pain clinic getting Biofeedback.

I admit that I don't stretch much because a lot of stretching involves sitting or laying on the floor which would trigger my OCD but I do plan on doing what I can.

Attitude is so very important which is way I try hard to surround myself with positivity. This involves being selective in the type of entertainment I watch or play.

Thank you again for your reply!

Excellent! There are tons of stretches that you can do on your bed, so don't give up on that one. =]
