Hi

I tend to feel the cold anyway but just crank up the heating and wear thermals!

Try eating more protein based foods, cut out any rubbish.......and avoid alcohol if you possibly can.

YES YES AND YES Rubyrubyruby, So i am not on my own, i have had this problem since i was diagnosed ( polycythemia vera ) back in 2007, Cold hands and cold feet, my wife says it like sleeping beside a corpse at night, i thought it was really down to the Interferon injections but i stopped them in march 2011, but i am finding this cold spell really tough, specially the sides of my hands, so i think it is just down to our bloods and the condition, we just have to keep warm more than people without the condition.

Glad I am not on my own!

I have always been a 'cold' person but it has got worse.

The other day I was walking my dogs with gloves on and my fingers were so cold and painful I could have cried. Yet I also seem to struggle in the heat too!!

Oh, I am so cold. I have ET and take Hydroxurea. I am also very thin and aged 75.

. I'll try to eat more protein. My skin is also flaking. Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this other than salt scrubs and lotion recommended by my dermatologist, i also take fish oil and am using olive oil on my food but the skin problem is dreadful in the cold weather. I live in upstate New York where it is very cold.

Me too. There is a supermarket chain which now has its indoor temperatures so low that I have had to stop shopping there. I have wear gloves outside and in supermarkets near the chilled food sections. Jocro, I have flaking skin. I only have a shower at home which makes it worse and I long to have a place with a bath. I found when I was on holiday and was able to have a bath daily with the smallest drop of bath oil, the improvement was very marked. I just have to say too on a brighter note Jocro, that this forum is wonderful bringing together people from diverse and different areas of the world with the same problems. After watching on television the awful hurricane damage in New York, you have seen some massive changes not for the better and we can only sympathise with those so badly affected. I am in Edinburgh and we have some cold weather predicted for next week. Brrr.

I too get cold hands and feet. I assumed it was my age and circulation, being aged 66, but maybe it is a feature these disorders. I haven't noticed it before this year. (I was diagnosed with PVR in 1983 and about 3 years ago was diagnosed with MF).
