Anyone else with consistently rising neutrophils?

My neutrophils have steadily risen from 67 to 78.2% over one year while my lymphocytes have decreased from 17.2 to 12.1%. My overall WBC went from 9 to 11.4. I’m going to bring this up at my next appointment, but thought I’d see if anyone here has had similar numbers.

Platelets are at 731. Hematocrit is 44.7 and hemoglobin is 15.

I’m JAK2+. On aspirin only. I feel like my username should be “watch and wait. “ 😆

The % numbers for NEUT and LYMPH do not tell you how many there are, just what proportion of the total leukocyte each type of WBC is showing. Look for the absolute number of each type of leukocyte for more meaningful information.

Thanks.

I looked at the absolute numbers.

Granulocytes, eosinophils, basophils are all high. Monocytes and lymphocytes are both low. My lymphocytes are at 1.0.

What I’m wondering about is the trend which is clear.

What do you know about the significance of ANC? Mine has gone from 6.3 to 8.9 in one year.

I found a very interesting article about neutrophils and MPNs.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Apparently, neutrophils can be high not just due to their overproduction in MPNs, but also due to not “dying” as usual.

As Hunter said numbers matter more than percentages. You say overall WBC went from 9 to 11.4. My wifes WBC count last week was White blood cell (WBC) count 49.2* x10^9 H 4.0-11.0 Neutrophil count 43.4* x10^9/L H 1.7-7.5 Lymphocyte count 1.0 x10^9/L 1.0-4.5 Monocyte count 3.2* x10^9/L H 0.2-0.8 Eosinophil count 1.2* x10^9/L H 0.0-0.4 Basophil count 0.4* x10^9/L H 0.0-0.1So having WBC count of 11.4 would be wonderful for her .

On venisection only it’s common for whites and platelets to rise fairly slowly and steadily, most haems would be fairly relaxed about the level of your counts. When on venisection only over a period of about 7 years my whites went from 10 to 23 and platelets from around 300 to 650.

Thanks. This is the kind of information I was looking for.

My platelets went from about 550 to 750 in two years. Hopefully they settle down here.
