High blood pressure

After starting ruxolitinib for about 6 weeks bloods are fine for first time in a long will symptoms have settled but after seeing GP for routine check up have found to have high blood pressure hasn't been checked for a while so been put on medication think this is bad any one else on this path !!! Tia

When I started Rux my blood pressure was high after a life time of low blood pressure. When it was done at my surgery it was way lower. On the advice of haemotologist I bought my own blood pressure monitor and within a short time blood pressure was fine. So conclusion was that initially Rux raised it but then it returned to my normal as I got used to it, but also it's the white coat syndrome because always high when done at the hospital .

I read Rux can increase blood pressure and cholesterol, can doesn’t mean does, I’m on high dose Rux and blood pressure 120/80.

I had stage 1 hypertension when my erythrocytosis was not adequately controlled. It has resolved since the HCT 45%. I have not heard of ruxolitinib raising blood pressure but there are sometimes very rare side effects. It is very important to keep the blood pressure in check in the context of a MPN. I was on a dose of losartan 25mg qd when my BP was elevated. It worked well without any side effects. Lisinopril did not work for me due to side effects.

I have been on Rux for about five years. It has controlled the MF until recently. I now have very high cholesterol and am just prediabetic. As far as I know my blood pressure is fine x

yup, after a lifetime of low pressure I now have high and am on meds for it I’ve got PV and am on hydroxy. Would love to hear how the rug has been for you.
