Fatigue is the most common of the MPN constitutional symptoms. Fatigue in the form of asthenia/dyspnea are also a common HU adverse effect. Sometimes timing is the only way to sort out which is which. This is an issue worth reviewing with a MPN Specialist.
Regarding a nutritional supplement, it might help; however, blindly taking a vitamin is unlikely to do much good. It is worth doing a nutritional assessment to see if you have any deficiencies. My Integrative medicine doc did a full nutritional panel I was found deficient in Vit B/Folate, Vit D, and magnesium. Now taking supplements for all three.
Yes it's important also to be aware that some vits and supps may not suit us with MPNs iron and Vit K are obvious ones which may be included in an overall supp (for example Vit K is often combined with Vit D to aid its absorption but in fact increases clotting too, so a no no for us) Good luck in your efforts to find out more on what your body needs. Meanwhile Vit D without the K, a multi B vit and Vit C would be a good start and generally well received and required in modern life. I have also found a quality CoQ10 to help with fatigue as its assists the energy metabolism (in the cell's mitochondria) making the most of our energy levels - all best wishes to you RadRuby xx
K2 stops the build up of Calcium and transports where needed. My MPN Specialist showed no concerns with me taking combined D3+K2. K1 potentially a concern.
Thanks Ainslie - that is something for further question for us as I know that the Vit k (not sure which one) is often combined with Vit D Supps, and certainly in the Northern hemisphere most of us don't make sufficient Vit D for optimum health in the winter especially - in the summer it's advisable for even fair skinned folk to give themselves 'some' non sunscreen exposure - even if only half an hour a day it makes a big difference. Thank you once again for your reply.
