Just recovering from a very nasty covid bout - my first. I'm a pretty healthy, active 76 year old with no medical issues other than PV. I don't need to take any prescription medicines other than HU, and otherwise take only aspirin and vitamins. Nevertheless, I was seriously sick for 2 weeks with all the symptoms and am still getting my strength back. My wife and I both got our covid boosters back in October. Without that, I am sure I would've required hospitalization.
I am very humbly suggesting to any of you who have, for whatever reason, delayed getting vaccinated for covid, reconsider. The short term discomfort is well worth it in my humble opinion.
Living in the coastal saltmarsh, we are cleaning up from the storm that flooded around us. We are set up to deal with it and a few hours of work should do the trick. Thankfully I can. Please be well, enjoy your holiday and embrace the gift of nature.

good morning! I absolutely agree! I ‘ve had 7 Pfizer’s, ( Covid hasn’t gone away) a pneumonia vax ( had pneumonia in the summer that was utterly awful) a flu vax and my first Shingrix vax ( I don’t want shingles either) I ve always steered clear of vaccines pre covid. Not any more! Have a lovely Christmas and wishing you a very healthy and happy new year. I m 70 by the way with PV.
I agree with you totally. COVID is definitely still with us. A 72 year old friend of mine died about 10 days ago of COVID. The third friend of mine who has died of the virus since it began in early 2020. So, beware and get your vaccine unless you have some good reason not to get it. Best to you and a Merry Christmas and Great New Year.
