Sticky Eyes / Dry Nasal Passage

Does anyone else suffer from dry eyes & nose who are on Hydroxycarbamide? Or have I got something else going on that I should see my GP. (Added later. . . I meant to say go back to my GP again as first visit, I was just told it’s something you have to live with)

Hi raffles - I’m ET JAK2+ and dry eyes + nose were symptoms (along with the others) that I was having before being diagnosed. I have been on hydroxy now for 6 months + my poor schnozzle is still very dry (I use a bit of lip salve inside on a night + eye drops) assume for me its the ET as opposed to the hydroxy.

Hi RafflesUK you should get this checked by your GP, it is very easy to blame symptoms on our MPNs or medication, when it could be something else wrong with us. Best wishes, Maz

Thank you Maz, I did ask the doctor and yes, she did blame on ET but also said, she didn’t really know much about ET. I also asked my haematologist who was also equally vague. I do understand why you gave this advice and it’s 100% always the correct advice. Thank you so much for everything you do & may I wish you a happy Christmas. Raphael

I have had dry eyes for some months and seeing my optician for a chat was very helpful. UK resident and chemist Boots, has over the counter drops that help me. Jan x

Soz raffles (+ maz) should have been a bit clearer on my post in that I assumed my symptoms were down to my ET ( had been previously pinged through optician, max facial, ENT, + neurology before rocking up at haems).
