has anyone experienced allergic reactions to Aspirin? How does it feel how does it look like? A have red dots all over my torso especcially where my cloths are tighter. Itchy and burning. I'm on 100 mg Aspirin daily. I have been taking it since 2022 December. I have ET (JAK2 positive).
I skipped one Aspirin yesterday and the symptoms are seemed subsided.
Are there any substitute for Aspirin which are not anticoagulants?
I would be happy if you could share your experiences

That does not sound like and allergic reaction. It sounds like a potential adverse effect though. Aspirin can cause petechiae, small areas of bleeding under the skin. Note that if you have thrombocytosis, you are at risk of bleeding from that as well.
Suggest that you consult your care team about this symptom. It may be that you need a lower dose of aspirin or al alternative if the symptom persists.
Tonight I won't skip Aspirin (I need it because of my platalets are around 715 nowadays) and we will see if the symptoms get stronger. Anyway tomorrow I will contact my hematologist.
I had a weird response to enteric coated aspirin....gave me diarrhea. Seems I was allergic to the coloring used in the coating. So I've been buying plain white uncoated aspirin and using a pill cutter to cut in into quarters. No more reactions! This might not be your problem, but good to be aware that it's a possibility. By the way, I'm in Israel where all aspirin is enteric coated. I have to order from the US. I agree with Hunter that you need to check it out with your care team.
Thanks for sharing your experience.I have some diarrhea-ish thing mostly in the morning and my asthma is a little bit worse than usual. I don't know if these symptoms are connected to Aspirin or not. I have easily irritated stomach and bowels. I often take prbiotics.
There are definitely alternatives to aspirin. I suffered badly with stomach problems, which built up gradually after I started taking aspirin and have now been switched to clopidogrel, which seems to suit me much better. Like you, my platelets are high, normally around 800-1000, so taking nothing isn't really a sensible option. They were reluctant to switch me, and tried stomach protectors with the aspirin first, which made my issues even worse, but hopefully in your case as it's a different issue you should be given something different quickly. Definitely speak to your care team about it!
I have ET Jak 2. I started out with 85 low dose pill aspirin and had major stomach discomfort daily, too. Cardiologist quickly changed aspirin from pill to capsule form--Vazelore is the US name--which alternative digestive strategy immediately eliminated stomach issues. At the same time as I started the aspirin routine, cardiologist also started me on once daily clopidogrel. It and aspirin are not the same drug but they work together to address aspects of ET. Had no issues with clopidogrel either. Two weeks ago at cardio follow up appointment I was advised to stop taking clopidogrel as it had been nearly a year since I started taking it. Was not aware of this limitation. Hematology oncology agreed it was the right thing to do so I stopped taking it. Vazelore capsule aspirin has thus been a lifesaver and I continue taking it with no issues. So, you might try taking Vazelore low dose aspirin capsules and check now to see if your medical professionals are concerned about clopidogrel having a one-year limitation vs a surprise at the end of a year as I had. Good luck!
