I would like to share my special news with you all , today I completed day 2 of my conditioning ahead of my BMT on Thursday 2nd February 2023.
I am both privileged and excited about my journey and have no fear or doubts.
Special thanks to all of you, our very special group of people, too numerous to mention.
Except for you Maz, after 6 years you truly are a shining star !!!
I will keep you all posted as to my progress, highs only , no time for lows!!!
Charlotte my daughter is busy singing, running ( not at the same time ) and raising funds ahead of the London Marathon 2023.
Finally the care, trust and kindness from all of the Medic Team at UCLH London is beyond words, something those of you who know me will not believe, as I am rather prone to to a chat!!!!
Take care, stay well and keep your eye on the ball !!
Regards Kevin Broz

Wishing you the very best! Grit your teeth and get through that chemo. Your positive attitude will be a huge asset in the months to come.Jennie (SCT September 22)
Jennie, , , I hope you're making good progress and gaining strength, , , I'm sure you are an inspiration to everyone on here especially those currently or considering undergoing a SCT having done so yourself so recently. Many will no doubt benefit from your valuable contributions about your experience and your support. Regards Chris
Thank you Chris. In general things have been going really well, apart from an infection last week. Luckily they were able to treat it quickly with antibiotics and I didn't have to be admitted. They are gradually reducing the cyclosporin and I'm getting out for a short walk every day. I'm taking one day at a time and so far so good! Best wishes to you, Jennie
Hey kevinbros, , "no fear or doubts" = 100% commitment , , and that is the only approach once your decision is made to go for it. Belief is the thing I never doubted before, during and after my SCT and clung onto even when things went a tad pear shaped with the GVHD because no doubt there will be highs and lows along the way but trust me it's all doable. Keep up your positive attitude because it's a mental battle as much as a physical one and it's good that you're going into it in the right frame of mind.
I wish you the very best of luck with it , ,I've no doubt you will but just put your trust in your care giving team because they're with you all the way doing their best to get you through and out the other side.
Wishing you all the best for your transplant and your recovery. As others have said, it may not always be plain sailing but with a positive attitude like yours, half the battle is won. Keep us posted on your progress.
Great attitude and you could not be in a better place than UCLH with a great bunch of professionals. I was on the sixteenth floor looking south over the London skyline. It will have changed quite a bit as it was 12 years ago. Some tough bits to come but manageable. Good luck. Stay positive
Best wishes to you too Scaredy cat. How do you find Bristol haematology team ? Are any of the doctors or nurses mpn specialist ? ( One of my questions that I was planning to ask on my next phone appointment)
It might seem odd but I don't really know the mpn team here My mpn was managed by Gloucestershire Royal hospital especially Dr Frewin
She was excellent. I've only come under the Bristol people because of the sct so I don't know which are mpn specialists. Hunter has a list of mpn specialists and you can probably find it on this forum
Thanks for the link, I've seen the list before, but had hoped that as it was last updated in July 19 that they may have other mpn specialist that we don't know about. 😀
Great post Kevin. Thank you for letting us know about your experience and for sharing your positive attitude! Should you need in any case a boost in the coming months, we are here for you! Good luck and keep us informed

Hi Kevin, thank you, your kind words and thoughts mean so much to me, and what you said on the phone at the weekend, you truly did make my week with what you said. You are a star, and your lovely daughters, who do so much to support MPN Voice. You've got this!!! Much love, Maz x x x
