Covid Jab

Just wondering what covid jabs people have had. I’ve previously had the Pfizer with no problems, I’ve now been told that maderna is the one being offered, I am worried about any possible side effects. I have ET, MPL + and I am taking Pegasys, I live in the UK.

I’ve had 4 x Pfizer then 1 Moderna a couple of weeks ago. No problem. Just a sore arm for a day, maybe two.

Thanks, that makes me feel a bit happier about the Moderna, I can cope with a sore arm!

I had the Modern vaccine 2 days ago, side affects are feeling achey and arm a little sore. I have been taking paracetamol which helps.

1 had first two Asta Zenica, next two Pfizer and the 5th Moderna.No problem, just sore arm

I had two AZ, then a Pfizer and most recently Moderna. I had grim side effects with all of them getting progressively worse with each jab. Pfizer was worse than AZ and Moderna was worse than Pfizer. With all of them I felt like I had been hit by a train, Pfizer also made me sick and dizzy and I nearly passed out a few times. Same with Moderna ,but in addition my arm was bruised and swollen and very sore for about 10 days. Having said all that , a lot of folks on here seem to have minimal side effects and most of my friends and family have had zero problems so I think I'm just one of the unlucky ones ! If you were OK with Pfizer , hopefully it will be the same for Moderna .

I have had 2 Astra zenica, 2 Pfizer and lastly a moderns , I had read some bad anecdotes about moderna, so was a little apprehensive, but I just had a couple of days of being tired and headachy

I had heard some bad reviews about the Moderna that’s why I thought I’d ask, I can cope with a sore arm & feeling slightly unwell for a couple of days.

Had 2xAZ 1 Pfizer and 1 Moderna. No problem with the first 3, just the usual tender arm, the Moderna gave me a thumping headache for a few days.

I had a severe reaction to my first jab (AZ) with dreadful headache and had to get brain scar as it was feared I was having a stroke. I recovered and since then I have had three Pfizer jabs. The only symptoms from Pfizer was sore are and upset to my neuropathy which settled in two or three weeks. I do not know if you are in the UK but here I was advised not to get the Moderna as a booster as it was given at half strength and did not really suit any of us the MPNs are coverage was not good.

Yes, thanks it does help, I am in the UK, so will ask if the Moderna is given at half dose for everyone. I’m glad you’ve recovered from your earlier problems.

The moderna is being given as a half dose booster , but that isn't an issue now as long as you have had your 3 primary doses which needed to be full strength. That was an issue last autumn /winter , but this should be a booster dose , so half dose appropriate

I had four Pfizer, with no ill effects other than a sore arm. Then this time, for my fifth, I was told that giving a different brand was more advantageous against Covid and I received Moderna. That day, no problems at all, and then the second day - oh boy! I couldn't get out of bed! I felt a bit fluey, very wobbly, like drunkenness, and I spent most of the day asleep in my chair. I take pregabalin and I think it doesn't mix well with modern. I reported my side effects. I see most people had no problem, and that re-enforces the feeling that Pregabalin and Moderna do not mix.

I had 2 Astra Zennecca, with mild side effects for a couple of days, 2Pfizer ..no side effects and 1x Moderna, as someone else said , I was fine for the first day, but after that had a whole month of extreme fatigue..hoping they will go back to Pfizer in the Autumn. ( have MF…on HU & Aspirin)

The Moderna is actually a larger dose than Pfizer, 50mcg vs 30 for Pfizer. It's confusing but the "half dose" is half of the original 100mcg that Moderna used. Pfizer has always used 30 mcg for adults.

So you will get a larger dose with the Moderna. They are otherwise similar to each other.

I've had four Moderna shots. Three primary and one booster... I currently regret hesitating too long to get my second booster as recommended as I sit here with Covid. In my experience, I was fatigued after each Moderna vaccine for a couple days. The last booster, I registered a small fever for a short period of time. Dont hesitate like me! Covid is no walk in the park.

I will now get the Moderna after reading the comments. I do agree mild side effects from the jab seems better than the unknown of covid. I hope you feel better soon.
