Just got an e.mail from Blood Cancer UK to ask if I had been invited for my third Covid Jab by 5pm today, if not would I fill out a survey which I have done to say NO, my GP practice said it was nothing to do with them But comes under the GP alliance, so tried calling them as my husband has been invited to book his but the line has been engaged all day.
Tried calling my Haematology nurse but again no call back as yet, so all a bit frustrating don't know what to do, just hold fire I suppose.

Hi, yes, I have tried to ring the GP, as well as I handed in the information that we got last week. For me, it is really impossible to get past the receptionist! I , according to her, don't need to talk to the doctor regarding this. That is me told!
Yesterday (11-10-2021) was the day mentioned where hospitals/GPs should have finally identified their immunosuppressed patients requiring a ‘third dose’.
I received the Blood Cancer Survey today. I got in touch with my GP on Monday with a copy of the Blood Cancer Letter and was immediately offered a 3rd vaccination next week. Told I would be offered another in 6 months time. I don’t know if they knew about the third dose but I had not been contacted despite today’s deadline.
I just spoke to my GP practice after sending the letters from Blood Cancer UK etc in 10 days ago and the receptionist told me they had not heard of a 3rd dose!! However, she said she would send all the information to the person booking in covid jabs to review so we'll see. I really don't understand why it has to be so difficult!! Communication has clearly been very poor to GP practices...
Hi, yes, similar. Went to the surgery armed with the letters because I new if I rang I would be kept hanging on for ages only to get blown out with the first words and I was right, the receptionist was irratatedly dismissive but I insisted the letter was to be shown to the doctor and I saw her put my name on the top. When I got home I contacted the covid line and they knew nothing about the third vaccine so were unable to book me in! So, one has nothing to do with it and the other knows nothing about it!! So what are you supposed to do?😬😩
Thankfully in leeds the haematology department has referred us for our third dose, with a letter, and at the vaccine centre the nurse checked carefully that I understood that it was not a booster I was getting but a third dose, and that I was aware why I needed it….Good news in comparison to most it seems!
Glad I am not the only one although these days it feels as if I am, get all these letters from the government to say that I am not clinically vulnerable anymore and to carry on as normal, come to that what is normal at the moment. 😡
Hi, after speaking to nurses at my Day case unit having a blood transfusion last week, they actually hadn't heard of 3rd dose! However the head nurse advised me to contact my haematologist's secretary which I did and someone else had rung about this.I asked if my doctor would send an email to my surgery. This he did as I could see this in my Care which I use.Making doubly sure ,I forwarded MPN letter to my surgery regarding 3rd vaccine. Hey ho yesterday received an email to contact them regarding vaccine.... having on Saturday. Then received a letter saying ok not to shield now but upon reading thoroughly it does state where to contact for 3rd dose immunocompromised people.Sorry this is a bit long winded! I have ,MF and not great with other conditions also at the moment.
