Hi. I am new here and appreciate this forum. I have myelofibrosis and just had cataract surgery. Before the surgery I had didn't always see perfectly because of the myelofibrosis. Does having this cancer affect the cataract surgery? Thank you.

Myelofibrosis and Cataract Surgery Question
Hi CocoJ. I had cataract operations a couple of years ago and my sight is much better although I still need glasses for reading. I have had pre-fibrotic myelofibrosis for over 7 years. I hope your op. was successful.
I never heard that myelofibrosis causes eye problems. It’s interesting that you mentioned it because I had cataract surgery in both eyes when I was 44 years old. My vision was completely blurred. I wasn’t yet diagnosed with Et. That happened 8 years later. I wonder now if they could have been related.
Hi I have ET and had both cataracts done last year, at 58. My vision is really good, I have worn glasses since a child and dont need to any more, so very pleased with results.
Hi. I have worn glasses since 6 and had contacts at 16. I am glad I had the surgery and know that it does take time for the surgery to completely clear up my vision. Thank you for letting me know about you and I am glad it worked for you.
