Cellulitis healing stage

I was put on antibiotics Friday for cellulitis in my stomach I have kidney disease so in relapse at the moment so was quite swollen with Edema, it was bright red Friday and yesterday but today it’s not as warm to touch but it’s a little purple when I had it august it also turned a little purple but it was obviously healing.

I haven’t got a fever and don’t feel unwell in myself apart from being in pain.

Has anyone had experience with this?

And did yours turn purpley when healing?

You have my sympathy, cellulitis is so painful. I have had it on my leg and yes it did look sort of purple as it started healing. Hope you feel better soon, Jennie

Hi there, I had it on my foot and it took two times antibiotics to clear but the swelling is still going on my foot. This is been going for a quite long time and doctors appear not knowing what is going on. Wishing you well and fast recovering.

Hi Phoebe 776,

I had cellulitis on my foot and my doctor had to prescribe a second lot of antibiotics and then an antibiotic cream before the cellulitis eventually disappeared.

Bright red on my foot and the pain indicated it had not gone away. Six months later the colour has faded but it still stings on occasions.

Cellulitis is so painful, I hope you heal soon.
