Some say we can’t have it since live vaccine and others have had it no problem.
Met a couple of very healthy people yesterday who are recovering from this latest flu strain, said never been so ill. One of them, a doctor, said real risk of developing into Pneumonia.
Thanks

I was given the Pneumonia vaccine along with the flu this year. I was a bit light headed for a day or so afterwards but no real issue.
Personally I am happy to have received the vaccine, and as it lasts a number of years I will have some protection against what can be a very serious illness.
I also believe the pneumonia vaccine is not live and therefore safe. In the US, they recommend the shingles vaccine at much younger than 70 but because it’s a live vaccine I’m told not to get it. Katie
“ The pneumococcal vaccine is thought to be around 50-70% effective at preventing pneumococcal disease. Both the PPV and the PCV are inactivated or "killed" vaccines and don't contain any live organisms. They can't cause the disease against which they protect.“
