Fourth jab

Finally got my fourth jab today. After going to the GP, they said it was nothing to do with them and had to go through my consultant. So emailed haematology nurse and she sent a letter of proof that I have a type of blood cancer, went to a walk in clinic and had no problems.

Arm starting to hurt and expecting to feel Sicky the next couple of days like I did the last few but just happy to have got it done.

Thank you for the advice given,

Thanks for sharing Penny, glad it was straightforward . I have not been invited yet despite receiving early invites to the 3 previous vaccines so will check with haematology this week. Hope your side effects wear off soon.

Thanks, feeling a little sick, bone ache but seems to be a bit better already. Definitely contact your haematology as if I didn't I still would be waiting x

Hi Penny, Well done! Hope your symptoms haven't been too bad. .

I had the same problems, my GP never said contact my consultant. I called 119 who advised me to. This went well, I received both a physical and emailed letter.

Got my 4th today. I also experienced symptoms with all 3 previous vaccines. Currently trying not to think about this with fingers and toes crossed.

Hi Penny, I hope you've recovered. I'm feeling a tad rough, muscle and joint ache, cold, I did have bit of a headache and nausea but gone now. I'm on the mend after a rest day and looking forward to the extra antibodies x

My GP surgery rang to say I should get a "prescription " from the Haemo clinic because they thought I was on the list.I just took copies of my last letter / results from haemo clinic and the recommendation notes to a walk in clinic. I had them on line on my UCLH patient app.

As I was volunteer marshalling at the vaccine clinic it was very convenient!

Hi Penny

I’m glad to hear you got your vaccination. I had a very similar response from the GP, they don’t deal with Covid vaccinations anymore. Quite frankly, I can’t see why not. I had my haematologist arranging it at Guy’s hospital, also had it done yesterday. Kind of wrong that we have to request and chase it, but at least we had it done now. All good until the next battle ☺️

Take care.

Exactly, if it wasn't for reading comments on here I wouldn't have known I should have had another vaccine. X

Hello penny. 10. I had my 4th vaccine two weeks ago I just walked into nearest clinic giving jabs and showed them my letters from hospital describing my condition and they gave me vaccine with no trouble (. They did check N H S number )

I've kept the letter re the 4th jab so when the next one is needed I will do the same and hopefully not have to ring around. Take care.

Wow fourth hope your feeling OK. I've only just had my 1st an considering not having any more after heart palpitations like I've never had. Other then that mild symptoms. Has anyone else experienced this? How many jabs do you have to get. I've heard some saying they're on there 5th or 6th. Vax pass and mandates wiped here as of next week. Only 2 shots in nz and a booster.

The mRNA vaxes can cause heart issues including palpitations, as seen here. Which one did you have?

cnbc.com/2022/02/04/though-...

<<The risk of myocarditis after Covid vaccination is highest in teenage boys and young men following the second dose of mRNA vaccines, the technology used by both Moderna and Pfizer. Symptoms develop within a few days after vaccination, including chest pain, shortness of breath, heart palpitations and fatigue. >>

<<However, the risk was higher following the second dose of Moderna’s vaccine in people ages 18 to 39>>

So you are in this group by some definitions.

It's rare and normally a mild issue:

<<The overwhelming majority of people who had myocarditis after Covid vaccination fully recovered and most reported no impact on their quality of life>>

I had just mild flu like after Pfizer, but I'm not in the younger group listed here.

In the US it's two to be called fully vaxed for the general public, and three are recommended. They are just today talking about a 4th. UK is higher counts, I also read of a 6th there.

Sorry for the late reply. Hope you are ok, I only had a couple days of feeling unwell after my vaccine. Sickness, headache and tiredness which I had after the others as well. As per EPguy saying the nurse giving the vaccine did warn can cause heart inflammation but is easily treatable. If get any symptoms heart palpitations etc to go to GP.

I think I will be having another 5th vaccine in 3 to 6 months. As I work in a hospital I take the vaccine as advised.
