I can't work, I'm living with a man I don't want to be with, and he's controlling at times.
I feel trapped: I can't work, I'm... - Mental Health Sup...
I feel trapped
Been there done that, (the relationship). He was controlling in every respect even with me visiting or having visits from my brother, sister, mother and my son. It took me a while but I found the strength eventually to leave. The last straw was because my son wanted to visit and he 'being controlling - said something'. That was it, my son and my family were far more important than him. WHAT A BLESSING. I don't work, due to pain, depression and illness.
Yes, me too - got the tee shirt! My family wouldn't visit, I couldn't go shopping with my mum just in case we talked about him. It came to a head when he started getting a little too close for comfort to my daughter (not his). I took his physical beatings but no way was he hurting my daughter's mental health.
One of us had to go...in my case it was him but I had two sons with him and he took them with him. It shattered me at the time but there was no other alternative.
Bad relationships need to be got out of, one way or another, before your self esteem plummets!
Good luck,

Maybe you feel trapped,, because you cant see a way out. There is always a way out!!! maybe your feeling like a victim,, ie I cant do,, this or,, Icant do that,,, you can,,, go see the council,,,tell them you just cant stay,,, hes abusing you because your ill. Maybe you need to leave, to get better??? maybe you know that deep inside,, but you need some information about how,,,, and start planning ,,, to leave,,, and prepare yourself for that to happen.
Go to citizens advice in order to find out , what your entitled too , ie sickness, housing and money you might be able to claim. Or talk to your local housing office (council).
To be wise, is to be powerfull.
take care x were here for you.
Yes I totally agree, I need to make a plan and get some advise of the local cab and that. Thank you for your advise x
