Yes, absolutely, in fact I'd say that I'm only really depressed when I'm not in contact with anyone, as soon as i'm talking with someone i like or even have contact with someone i don't know i begin to lift out of the depression. human beings are not meant to be isolated, we are social animals and need contact with other people. i know my needing more contact than many people comes from not having had enough real contact as a child, but i don't know whether that's true for you as well. Hope the snow has cleared now and that you can get out and about again.

Hi Mupp.

Yes, this is very normal.

I know I always try to make myself get out of my flat at least once a day, even if it's just going round the block.

When I was most unwell and barely able to function I had a 'daily chart' thing of things I would try to do / not do, and 'leave my flat' was high up there. It's so important, as we do get very isolated, and caught up in our own thoughts, and everything can escalate in our minds.

And when you are housebound and no choice but not to get out, it's even harder.

How are you now?

When you get unwell and are unable to get out, are there maybe any good friends who might be able to come round and spend some time with you?

Thank you that's helped one of my friends parked her car nearby and walked to my house to come see me which made a difference I feel better fir being back at work and around noise again. Thank you :)
