Your post asks the biggest question of all which I will attempt to answer as an older person. Acknowledging & accepting that you have depression and not being "mad" is so important. Life can be difficult without a mental health plan to guide you. While working out what this looks like, take a moment to consider all aspects of life such as physical health, treatment by mental health professionals , work or education , sport and hobbies, finances, relationships etc. These are sometimes lumped under a term "social determinants of health and wellbeing ". I am suggesting these are some of the things you work through the help of a therapist. You will find that you are actually the expert in your life through your lived experience. Don't be afraid to research ideas and suggestions. Pick and choose the best of ideas that works for you to help with your recovery to be the best you can be. Life will not be easy but it doesn't have to harder than necessary.
