Hi I am new on here, I have an anxiety disorder and been living with copd for 2 years. I’m trying to find support to cope mentally with the copd and it’s affects and to cope with it as it’s affecting my mental health more now. I’m a fitness fanatic but struggling to find a better balance of activities that still make me feel good but aren’t as over exerting as I’m wearing myself out, can anyone relate? I’m female, 48 xx

The main thing you need to do is divert your thoughts away from your condition. You like physical fitness, that will help although it is always good to have hobbies your enjoy outside or in the house. I enjoy gardening and visiting old houses and historic sites around the UK. We are Life Members of English Heritage and National Trust and we also visit Historic Houses on a Year Pass

We have a picture Library that consists of Postcards in book form one of the sets consists of forty books of a hundred plus photographs of Scotland so if we have problems with memory we still have the books to look at. It is a marvelous tool as the books we have cover all the places we visited through our lifetime

We also have a research and Reference Library that we use virtually every day.

We also have a Collie Dog who we take out for walks in the countryside and the beach. We also have a fruit garden and Orchard of about fifty varieties of fruit that probide us with fruit throughout the year. We have just planted a new small orchard of fruit trees where we can sit and have picnics.

There are many things you can do or experience, normally we always seem to be busy even though I have physical Disabilities and My Mental health is developing into A short term memory disorder, I am seventy one years old in two weeks .

Whatever you wish to try, everyone is different so it is problematic to suggest anything to you.. I am waiting for an MP3 PLAYER delivery tomorrow so I can record music from the USA also record CDS from records and my CDs so that will give me something else to do. During winter nights and days

Hi I advise you to also join the British Lung Foundation on this platform as well. Here is the link . I also am on that site as I have copd as well. It's a great site full of very friendly supportive people with great knowledge and experience of living with lung disease.
