They do take a while . I was (and still am ) on sertraline. For me to accelerate results I made myself walk outside every day. Potted some plants and did some colouring in dedicated an hour to theses sort of activities every day . This helped me massively wth anxiety and then the depression. I can remember wanting to feel better so desperately but it takes time. Mental health illness is not as predictable as a broken leg and you have to be patient and kind to yourself. 🤗

General rule of thumb is 4 - 6 weeks if starting from nothing. If changing from 1 ad to another ad then 2 - 4 weeks is the approximate time period. Also worth remembering that feeling worse before feeling better is fairly normal but you should ALWAYS see your doctor / psychiatrist if this happens.

Stick with it, you will get there x

I am going back many years but when I first started Cipramil for depression the first week was particularly rough in terms of bed ridden and almost hallucinating, but then I started to pop back up, was far from 'normal' but went from being bed ridden to getting back to university in few weeks while working through a few strange sensations like lights feeling like they were dimming and creeping feeling on top of my head but they passed.

For the past 20 odd years been on them a functioning 'normally' apart from the odd period of a week in bed or so when I have stupidly burnt myself out by working flat out for months on end.
