Bipolar 2 Disorder

Has anyone ever been diagnosed with bipolar 2? My therapist believes I have autism, but my doctor believes I’m bipolar. Because I was diagnosed with depression in high school but I’m wondering if that could be part of bipolar or something in between autism and bipolar?

Christine it can be a problem getting a diagnosis or Autism when we get older especially if you are an adult,

You may need some tests to give a diagnosis. I went through two scans and tests over a five week period. Although my condition was a Congenital Short Term memory disorder. They may discuss various tests for you

I’m just wondering who could do tests for bipolar disorder because I’ve tried seeing a psychiatrist for getting evaluated for autism. But, it’s been hard getting to see one because of my insurance.

It all depends who will order the tests in the UK

When I had mine last April I had three departments checking me out and ordering test.

I just cannot remember the whole spectrum I know in my case I am now sixty nine and I felt really uptight nearing the end

When they start you may have a written test or two for the Autism

Yes I have Bipolar 2. Do you have times when you talk fast and have loads of ideas too?

I would kind of start thinking about one thing and think about another in less than a minute. I wouldn’t be able to sit still for more than a minute, I would talk fast but I noticed that would usually be when I was nervous about something. And talk louder and my family would tell me I need to talk quieter. Then I would also eat so fast that my parents would tell me to slow down

Dear Christine. I'm Bi-Polar 1, and it took many years to get a correct diagnosis. Keep taking your meds, drink less and don't let the b*stards get you down.
