Self havening and other odd tricks

So a couple of months back I found out about self havening and, as it looks so bizarre, I thought it was something that would never work.

Yet I honestly have found that when I am in that place between anxiety and panic, rubbing my upper arms repeatedly and imagining walking away (either along a beach or up some stairs) really makes such a massive difference!

I wanted to make this post to share something that I feel really works for me and to also ask you guys if anyone else has any other slightly odd things that they do (scientifically proven or not) that calms them down and helps to ease you out of a full on panic attack?

When I’m in full on mode and a long time & extremely fatigued I actually console myself rubbing my arms and pretending big me is talking to little me saying things consoling as you would to a young child I learned this from a book. To let it out I often cry. I have ptsd and pain this helps me when I’ve been suffering too long.
