Ive felt upset and I’m in the constant state of depression nothings changing I’ve felt like this for years but feel like I can’t tell others because they might be like you’ll get over it or your doing it for attention so I’m always the person who laughs a lot in the group or is too wierd for smiling alotbut no one knows how I really am, for the first time I had a bit confidence and I went to the gp about it to get help and I talked to them all they said was “well sort something out for therapy and then see if you need to go on pills” that was three weeks ago so that hasn’t worked they haven’t said or done anything idk if they’ve forgotten or ignored what I’ve said I’m too embrassed to go I mean even going that first time was hard I ended up crying, I don’t know what to do now

Hi nice to meet you. Firstly well done for joining us and especially for plucking up the courage to see your doctor. It took me ages as well to go as it's not easy.
The second thing is I am not quite sure what you expected from your doctor? The medical profession can only offer meds and counselling so are you arranging any of this? I don't know what country you are in so it's hard to give any more advice as it's different everywhere. x
“well sort something out for therapy and then see if you need to go on pills"
This is what you said. Do you want to go on meds? if so go back to your doctor and have a chat. if you are in the UK you are often asked to self refer for NHS counselling. Did they give you the leaflet to arrange this? If you are in the USA then I believe you arrange your own? x
