You may find they will introduce you to various tests over several weeks, this is done because doing the tests all at once will effect results.
There are various pathways and the problem is a diagnosis can be problematic as we get older. As a young child the diagnosis it that much easier.
Just take the pathway as a means to an end and try not to worry. MAS has explained there is a site on Health Unlocked. There are other charities that have sites on the internet you may find useful. As far as I understand there is also a site that deals with Autism in Adulthood, that may help
Hello Hero, If you go on the NAS website forum you will find a lot of support from other adults going through the same. It's hard to say how long and what will happen I'm afraid. My GP referred me but was told the NHS waiting list was 12 months +. I eventually took out a loan to be assessed privately. I had 3 sessions and my husband had a session to give his observations too. It was nothing to worry about. Even the 'tests' were not a concern. I thought I had carried them out very well only to find on feedback that I had carried them out as one with ASD would do 😆. Good luck and I hope it doesn't take too long for you.
Thanks all of you, I've most likely had it since I was a child, but was never encouraged by Mum to seek help & buried it away, but it has come back & now causing problems, yesterday @ work wasn't good @ all!
