I've been taking it for a good few years now to help with pain particularly with the nerves..I suffer with various chronic pain issues.

Do you find that it makes you groggy all the time? I'm on it twice a day and feel off balance all the time. 75mg twice daily and not even sure if it's helping all the nerve pain. I have so much pain in my back that I can't tell the difference anymore. Bedridden 19 months.

I’ve been taking Lyrica for about 10 years. It helps my nerve pain. But I stopped taking it during the day. In just take it at bedtime now. I couldn’t function during the day after taking it.

Thank you for responding. Did you lower your dose or just take whole dose at bedtime? Did you have to do it slowly? Was there a withdrawal?

I was prescribed 100 mg 2 x day. I stopped the morning dose and just take 100 mg at night. If I have a lot of pain I may take it earlier than bedtime to get some relief. Personally I had no withdrawal symptoms, possibly because it’s still in my system. I have had a few times that I missed 1-2 days due to mismanagement when traveling. Other than insomnia I had no other withdrawal.

Do you mind if I ask how long you were taking it before you stopped. I'm thinking about doing the same thing but so scared of withdrawal.

it was so long ago that I don’t remember how long I was taking it when I stopped the morning dose. You can try it and see. You have the pills so you can always go back to your usual dose if you think it’s a problem. Honestly 75 mg. is a small dosage.

I was originally on 500mg a day 250mg day and night but due to kidney problems my doctors reduced it to 75mg twice a day...I don't take every day cause you can end in a bad cycle...it will make some people very drowsy more than others...it's not that bad with me but I'm now on a much lower dose.

Did they change your dose from 250 directly to 75 or did you have to taper down? How often do you take it and I don't understand what you mean by it can end in a bad cycle? Do you get withdrawal symptoms in between doses? Does the nerve pain return in between doses?

I was on pregabs bout 15 years ago I had a similar problem to u and if I had known bk then wht I went thru coming off those meds there's no way I would have gone anywhere near them.I took them for bout 5years and yes they helped alot but my advice to u is stay clear of them.c I was a heroin addict for best part of 25 years and have done 3 detox . 2 of those was straight cold turkey and wow they was really bad but the 3rd detox I did a methadone programme but something happened and I did straight cold turkey o off 50mil a day methadone and that was 5times worst than the heroin but why I went thru coming off pregabs OMFG if u merged the cold Turkey's from heroin and the methadone cold turkey together u can imagine the pain and hurt of all 3at the same time it it never came close to a pregabs cold turkey 7months of feeling like I had been ran over by bus and it was parked on top of me not sleeping at all.Never again but wht I'm trying to say is if u can avoid taking it please do so cos it's very difficult to come off it. I wouldn't wish that 7 months on anyone.... P.s sorry bout The long message.

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately I'm already on it for a couple of months now. I couldn't handle the pain from my CNS. I'm at a loss here trying to recover from open heart surgery.

as in the the post by Headsmashed be very careful coming of it pregabalin did nothing for me for nerve pain but the withdrawal is brutal the doctors told be it was harmless and had no side effects but never warned me of the addiction you can get from it now my doctors won’t prescribe it as it’s so addictive if you find it isn’t working please withdraw from it very slowly over months to save making your problems worse
