Bipolar Disorder and the eMoods App

Good morning, everyone, I hope your day is going good :)

Something I have been meaning to mention, but kept forgetting, is an app called 'eMoods'. The creator of the app has bipolar disorder and intended it to be used for people with bipolar disorder, although there have been several other uses for it. You put in the information to the question of how many hours of sleep you got last night, todays most extreme depressed mood, todays most extreme elevated mood, todays most extreme irritable mood, and todays most extreme anxiety. There are other questions, too, like yes/no to psychotic symptoms and yes/no to talk therapy today. You can also input medicines and click yes once you take them. The information you put in generates into a graph and can help you track your mood and potentially see an episode coming on. You can e-mail monthly reports, too. Personally, I have found this app to be very helpful and user friendly. Another cool free feature is is you click the 'resources' button. There are blogs and one (maybe more) directs you to the DBSA (Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance) site. The app is free, but with any app, upgrades/certain features cost money. For example, adding a time-stamped note is one of the features that costs. Data is not saved past the 6-month mark, but it is saved if you purchase the feature. I haven't made any of the purchases, but I am considering it. By no means am I saying to go out and spend money, this is just how I feel after using/getting comfortable with the app. I have an android phone, but it is offered for iPhones as well. This, along with professional care, has given me direction when I didn't know what to do after my diagnosis. I also feel more in control, as well. I hope you all have a smooth day :)

I'm having a hard time typing today, lol, so I'm glad it made sense enough to sound interesting ;)

I really like it and would have never known about it. One of my old friends from high school and I recently started talking and I found out she has bipolar disorder. She told me about the app and I have been using it. With the blogs, through DBSA, there's a section that's called "You've Just Been Diagnosed With Bipolar Disorder... Now What?" That's another reason why I like it and wanted to share with people. It's like I feel like I should be doing something now that I've been diagnosed, but the reality is that I already am- I'm receiving professional care, apart of support groups, monitoring my mood, taking my medicines, trying new things like mindfulness and yoga, and really trying to remind myself to take things day-by-day. It helps lessen confusion during a confusing/scary time. Reading the pdf gave me extra reassurance that I was doing what I should be doing to get better. Sorry this is so long! I hope you have a wonderful day, Florida :)

Different folks, different strokes come to mind.

If you are happy with that service, I cannot say anything about it
