Hello new to this site and hoping to find support and give support.
I have been signed off work with depression and anxiety but I have such severe OCD and this is what is making me very low and depressed. Does anyone know of any peer support groups or mentors that could help as I have very little in the way of this.
I am on medication and just started Busprione has any one tried this.

I note from your profile that you are already on OCD-UK HU community. Are you able to get some specific condition related support via them too? You ask about peer support groups or mentors. Mentoring is not what HU is really about, but it is peer-to-peer support. I don't know which country you live in, as this will affect what help there might be available in your country. If you live in the UK then it is worth taking a look at one of leading mental health charities called Mind UK, that has tonnes of useful information on their website regarding different MH conditions, support etc., and also, they run local Mind groups, so it may be worth checking what is available in your locality.
Keep in touch! Ok folks what can you suggest to help this new member?
Best wishes,
MAS Nurse
Hello bubble
Welcome to this site.
Depending on where you live, in the UK many towns have Mental Health Day Centres that are generally charities. Their main use is as a meeting place where support is given b like minded people. Some have Information Centres that can assist with needs and also Social Worker Support ?. Members are proactive in helping each other. Your GP Surgery may be able to direct you if any of these centres is close for you to attend.
We are here as well, to listen if needed and there are many here who have similar problems
Hello sorry for not replying earlier I struggle with this its part of my condition. I cannot find any local support groups that are near to me I live in Wiltshire and looking to link up with people in similar situation for general chat support and social. Is anyone from my area.
Generally these centres are found in towns or cities, I do not know Wiltshire very well I have only visited places of interest linked to various Historic Organisations.
There are generally places you can introduce yourself to others with the same problem. Today we went out to a small village, I mean small in our County and I was surprised to so one of these charities set up there. So sometimes you may find places around where you live within your area. If your GP cannot help. phone Social Services Wiltshire they will have a list.
Also you could try Citizens Advice they may be able to help, Libraries generally have Information Services that can also help. You may also find centres on the NHS CHOICES website. Check up your GP Surgeries or areas in Wiltshire, that may be of help.
How far are you from cities in your area, yes sometimes it can be some distance we are located between two Cities at sixty five miles each although country town have centres as well
yes this is a problem and travelling to the groups. I have a problem with getting out and travelling this has developed more due to the OCD and high anxiety. If anyone on here are in the wiltshire area I would love to hear from you.
