My husband has severe depression and I am there for him every step of the way. The sad days, happy days, silent days and the days filled with sleep. Who do I get support from? He gives all he can and I am grateful for that. But I need someone to talk to, just to vent. I feel scared that my loneliness is causing me to fall into a depressed place.

When you are being supportive, how do you get support for yourself?
Hello Southernmerbabe
Thank you for your message. It sounds as if you are having a difficult time. Yes you do need more support and somewhere to vent. You are right, talking with someone could be helpful. Is there a friend or family member that you could talk with?
Have a talk with your doctor/GP, they may be able to offer you some help or possible counselling.
Our members are very supportive so you may find more help and experience here.
Could you tell us more about your situation and how things are for you?
The topics and pinned posts can be very helpful too,
It may be helpful to look at MIND.

Take care and let us know how things go for you

As MAS mentioned
Talk to your GP and explain how you are feeling. Make a list of your problems and hopefully your GP will arrange a treatment pathway for you. You need to explain how your Husband is and the depression He suffers from, He will know the cause and affect of His illness and can arrange an assessment of the problems you are having to address because of an illness your Husband has. Last year I went through a similar assessment because of my Chronic Disability, Chronic Short Term Memory Disorder and Depression. Part of the assessment consisted of various tests on my memory etc. My Wife was also asked about my reactions to her and my conditions. They after a time recommended my Wife would be given help and possibly they would arrange time for Her to have time for herself.
She now has a telephone number to call to gain assistance from various Organisations set out locally. She has not used the assistance as yet, and personally I am happy at that
