Are you in the UK ?
Generally you have been seen by a GP and having CBT and some form of Mental Health treatments.
If you feel at risk you contact either your CPN or other Mental Health Professional. If that is not possible and you feel at risk phone NHS INFORMATION Tel 111 Explain your problem and if at risk, they can arrange an assessment and visit from a Crisis Team.
They will work out your needs and if required may admit you to mental health hospital.
That will amount to a Compulsory Section, you will be removed to safety. A Section is a serious undertaking they would try and keep you at home.
If you feel ill, Trigger Warning, you can go to A and E or a Police Station and explain you are at risk, They will assess your condition, You May be Sectioned or you can ask for a Voluntary Section, to be admitted DependIng on Hospital or Police. A Crisis Team may be called and an assessment will be given. A Crisis Team is generally three different Mental Health Professionals they will decide on the best way forward for your illness
Personally I never really saw or knew of someone been admitted on a Voluntary Section, either they take you in on a Section or they will arrange interventions as an outpatient as advised by the Crisis Team. Your GP can always discuss your health with your CPN etc
When I was taken into Hospital they calmed me and called my GP and made an appointment next day in the Morning, They also called the Crisis Team and they visited me at home. The hospital also called my CPN who discussed my problem later in the day then they discussed my needs with My GP. An assessment given kept me at home and further future appointments with other Mental Health Professionals. A Section is generally avoided if possible like the plaique.
