Hello. I'm not sure what to put here but I could really do with your help. Things are so so hard at the moment and I don't know what to do. It keeps coming back to me to start taking antidepressants. I'd always been wary of them as I thought they just kind of zoned you out. Took away the highs as well as the lows. Does anyone have experience? How's it been. I think I know the answer: I can't cope with the lows any more so I think it'd be worth the equalise.

Hi, you would need to get a proper diagnosis, as if you getting both highs and lows it sounds like cyclomania (lesser, milder form of bi-polar) and anti-depressants don't work for bi-polar or bi-polar related illnesses as they can make the highs go over into mania. This is just a suggestion of what could be the matter and I may be completely wrong. We are not qualified to diagnose on here. You really need to talk this through with someone professional and find out what is the issue in order to get the correct treatment.
I can tell you that antidepressants in themselves do not "zone you out" if you suffering from clinical depression and in need of them but it does sound from your post like this could be something else.
Hope this helps,
