Depression and Anxiety

Hi, I'm new here, and this is the first time i've ever done anything like this, so not really sure what to type.

Basically, I have a constant feeling of dread, right in my chest, if you know what I mean, and I feel miserable from when I get out of bed in the morning, to when I go to bed at night. It has been getting progressively worse, and I've gotten to the point where I think about suicide pretty much every day.

The cherry on top is that I have pretty bad social anxiety, so I do not feel at all comfortable telling a relative, seeing a doctor, or discussing this with anyone. The only reason I am able to do so on here, is that I can maintain anonymity, and I am desperate.

Does anyone have any advice on what I could do about this situation?

Hello James George1 and welcome to this caring community. You are among friends here and so many of the members feel like you at first so you are not alone. Is there no one you feel safe and secure with so that you can start to talk or write a letter to and give it to them so that maybe able to help you. However there are many helplines that you can maintain your anonymity but still be able to speak frankly and openly about how you are feeling. The 'Pinned Posts' has Crisis helplines all over the UK, USA and International. Also the Samaritans are available 24/7 - you can even give a false name if that would help in the beginning.

Please just remember you are not alone now.

Samaritans - helpline 116 123.

MIND - mind.org.uk

Anxiety UK - anxietyuk.org.uk Email - support@anxietyuk.org.uk

Can any of our members respond to James please.

Hi there welcome! Many many people are like you so don’t feel bad about it.

I too suffer badly with depression and anxiety and had constant suicide thoughts but now on a tablet called Cymbalta and oh what a relief. So please try and have the courage to talk to a doctor and get good results as it is no way to live. Wishing you well.😃
