Hi folks; Sorry for not being around the last few days. On Thursday I was walking down the stairs when I suffered a seizure, waking up @ the bottom with my wife & kids around me & my wrist pointed in a different direction from what it should.
I've done a really good job of it - bones fractured & displaced & fingers twice their normal size & a wonderful shade of purple! Dr's can't pin the bones together until the swelling goes down so I can't go to Trauma Clinic til next Friday @ the earliest.
I'm forced to typing with one hand so if I don't respond to a post please don't think I haven't seen/read it.

Hi David & thanx for your wishes. This is just another injury to add to the list for me! It's not as painful as my cartilage removal but a lot more painful than the plethora of other injuries in my life. At least it gets me to work from home for the time being! But hell fire I didn't think it would hurt this much! Hope all is well with you. FB. 🇮🇪
OMG Finglas-Boy! A definite OUCH!! You poor thing, I know how painful is a fractured wrist. Well done on one finger typing...it's very legible! Check out your computer's inbuilt accessibility features, and look for voice recognition/speech-to-text tools, which you can set up with a microphone to dictate to your document/speech and it will type for you!
On a medical note, do let your GP know about your seizure, and if these are out of the norm for you, you may need a medication review, or a review with your specialist.
Hi MAS & thank you for your advice. I've just gotten back from hospital where they've re-plastered my wrist & moved my Trauma Clinic appt. forward a couple of days. I didn't realise how much I use my wrist but I've got 4 fingers which look like big toes! I like your idea re; computer adaption but don't know if mine can recognise a West Cork accent & the obligatory swear words that go with an Irishman's diction anyway! Best wishes ; FB 🇮🇪
Hi there sorry to hear of your accident .I can sort of relate to this. Nearly 2 months ago now I tripped on the last few stairs carrying a basket of washing down .Anyways next thing I knew me and the washing were in a pile at the bottom of the stairs. Wow was I in pain or what? My leg was sort of bent under me. This was 6am ~my youngest son gets up at 6 30am to get ready for work.I tried calling for him ~but his bedroom door was closer. I managed to sort of hobble into the living room.As well as the pain think I was in shock as well ~couldn't stop shaking.To cut a long story short ~turns out I'd pulled a tendon in my leg 6-8 wks recovery time. All well now tho and still managed to hobble about during those 6 weeks.So my sympathies are with you .Hope you feel better soon 🤕PS think a stair gate and slippers that had seen better days were the culprit when I tripped!! Said slippers were put in the bin!!
Hi kittykat & thanx for your wishes. Best bit of being epileptic is I don't recall the fall! I didn't think such a comparitvely small injury could hurt so much. But it seems like you've been in the wars too
Sorry to hear of your injury there. Are you getting the best available treatment for your seizures? I can envision a situation (and I don't want to freak you out) where such a seizure would have a worse outcome :/

Hi Zoea. Good to hear from you. Just got back from trauma clinic & it's gonna take an op to pin bones back in true alignment. So jury's out on that.
Because epilepsy is result of a TBI there are obviously other aspects of neurological condition to consider. There is an op I can have but my Drs aren't convinced the pros outweigh the cons @ the mo.
