New here and don't know what I'm looking for

Hi all. Been suffering with depression for so long now but was diagnosed in 2009. In 2014 everything went black and I don't have any sort of life right now. Its as if I have just given up on myself. Nothing interests me anymore, I don't look after myself and don't go out unless its totally necessary.

Thank you for joining this community and a very warm welcome to you. It does seem that you are feeling very low in mood. I also wonder what occurred in 2014, to cause everything to 'go black for you'. Did you take any medication when you were first diagnosed with depression in 2009. It may help you to visit your Gp and explain how you are feeling and the lack of interest you have in your life at the moment. Perhaps some medication may help you through this difficult time. Also please ask your doctor to refer you to the Mental Health Services in your area, and you may be referred to see a psychologist or counsellor to help you to talk through your feelings and thoughts.

Also take a look at the Pinned Posts on the right side of your screen. Under the heading Crisis Support Helplines, you will find many charitable organisations who support people with mental health issues, either via telephone helplines, e-mails or to browse through the literature. Also take a look in the same section at Free Guides on Mental Health Issues. But please do seek professional medical advice, as this is very important to help you to get the support you need to aid your recovery.
