Could I ask roughly how long did you take fluoxetine for? Also how many days after coming off fluoxetine did you start SJW? My knowledge is that it normally takes 28 days for fluoxetine to get completely out of your system.
Thank you, I thought you may have started SJW too early but clearly not.
I have not tried SJW. If you are in the UK, have you tried contacting a Pharmacist at a local chemist and asking them? Might be a good idea. Me personally, I do not like the sound of dizziness and I would stop taking them.
Finz, I would suggest you go back to your GP and try another anti-depressant. There are so many different tablets it is a case of finding one that works for you.
You can wait for others to answer your post. We are always hear for you finz. I wish you well.
Thanks very much for your support, I have popped into a Healh store and had a chat, I know with the anti d is took a good few weeks to not feel the side effects but will be mindful.
Hey there from my experience with fluoxetine is that 20mg is the lowest dose recommended.
I did notice a huge difference when on 40mg but am now on 60mg which suits me fine.
Trouble is I went through every anti depressant with my physciatrist and ended back where I started,my physciatrist said that I don't react to the other antidepressants but it's only because I would go back after 3 or 4 days and say oooo can't take these they don't work and they make me feel like crap.ive since learned to manage my intake of tablets very well with the help of my wicked doc and my physciatrist.
It's kinda bare with it for a few weeks.
How can you i said.i can't work like this,I'm a danger to my self.
Answer was I'll sign you of for a month.
I went bloody ballistic
In the end I made him see sense.
What I'm trying to say is that ppl with mental health problems rarely know what they want and especially from the doc.
One had to find out what they want just to live a normalish life and to function in the correct way.
I've found that knowing my knowledge of my self and meds I can get where I want to go but it's a bloody hard push.
Tell me,how do you feel after not taking fluoxetine?
I you don't feel any different I would ask and push the doc to help you with ur meds
I really didn't notice much difference in fluoxetine then no change after the first month off it but after 2 months symptoms returned dizziness wooziness tiredness bloods all fine hence why I thought I'd try SJW
As you say try and bear with for a bit not much fun tho!
I would ask for a blood test for iron. As if your feeling in that bad state you prob ain't eating properly.
You need to fuel ur body to help you become well again.
Your probably getting anxious because ur finding nothing is working and like I used to do was search for that magic pill
Ok so I can't say there is one as that goes against the grain ok.
What I will say though is there is a magic something that rocks ur boat no matter how bad u are .
There is hope.
I've found that some ppl just flow through life but also behind closed doors seemed to be pretty unhappy for what they havnt got.
Then there are ppl who that they are given every piece of SHxxxT to deal with and they think they can't deal with there self but they can.
It's possible. Every thing is possible no matter how ill or down you are.
I'm always using CBT charts and thinking patterns charts and emotions charts and so on.
It's hard at.uou can print them out.its easy.
It's a pretty easy way of developing a skill of understanding your self. It's also amazing how many ppl say CBT doesn't work.
I've ADHD with real high scores.it didn't work the first time but after a year I asked for it again with a different person. This person stretched my mind like no other person has before. Do the home work.its all bout you. It's for your benefit and it does work of you put the effort in.
I hope you have a wicked day today and I hope I've helped
It's just frustrating, I have tried cbt maybe need to look at again. Am struggling feeling worse all week whilst in St. John's wort, I want to persevere but really don't want to feel like this.
Ive taken stjw before and found it really helped for mild/moderate depression. Never had any side effects though. What does the bottle say are possible side effects?
