Bipolar disorder
Hello,Zola. You need to go back to your GP and explain why you think you have bipolar and he will possibly refer you to a psychiatrist for a diagnosis. It is important to do so as the treatment and help for bipolar differs from that for straight forward or unipolar depression. Not that any form of depression is that straight forward but you know what I mean.
Just making the appt. with your GP will help. None of us react well to feeling helpless ,and you will have started to take positive action and feel less helpless which should help you feel less desperate in itself. Seeing your GP will give further help. Try and relax about it as much as possible. You will find you are far stronger than you realise and although we all feel desperate and struggle at times , like the rest of us you will find the strength to come through this alright. You may well not have Bipolar but if it turns out you have be consoled by the fact that many of us go on to lead pretty normal lives which are in the main happy although there are also periods of depression.
If you have a parent or sibling you can talk through your worries with and who will respect your confidences that will also help.
