Hi Lyns1411
Sorry to hear you are suffering with your breathing! Do you get this feeling often? Sound similar to a Panic Attack!
If you are really concerned you could phone 111 who will listen to what your symptoms & help you take the next step & they will talk to a Dr who will make decisions as to whether you need to be seen or what they think your symptoms are!
Good Luck I hope that you feel better soon! Warm Wishes . spykey 🤗
I have been using a meditation App when this happens to talk me back down and to sleep again, it also takes your mind somewhere else. also, sometimes the waking and the heart racing can be a change in blood sugar, eatng somethng small healthy and fatty (.e. some advocado) pre bed can help, and avoiding alcohol before bed. And breath breath breath. I get it a lot, and do sympathesis.. it sometimes seems my heart will jump out of my chest.
Lyns, please see your GP!! It could be anxiety. It could be asthma. It could be asthma triggered by anxiety. Let him nail it down for you. That's not good, especially in the middle of the night. Breathing is important. It's one of my favorite activities!
It's a vicious cycle, isn't it? Anxiety, fear, causes physical reactions, which in turn cause more fear. Then add more fear of seeking help, then even more when we receive the help.
Anxiety is like a dragon, breathing fire and reigning destruction in our lives. You be tiny St. George, with a mighty sword & slay that beast!!! Try the sertraline as your doctor prescribed. If it helps, the beast is dead. If not, go knock the GP in the head with your mighty sword and tell him to pay attention & get it right! We'll be with you either way!
