Cleaning/housework?

How long does cleaning/housework take you? I cannot seem to get on top of it. I seem to be naturally messy. I cannot seem to organise things neatly. I do a little.I also have chronic fatigue syndrome. Currently off work sick for a short time, still struggling. Dopey. The worst task is cleaning the bath and mopping for me.

It takes me ages and my home is messy too as I don't do much of it. I can organise it in my head up to a point but my body lets me down. You are not alone. x

tyvm. Yes in your head it would all look nice and tidy. Practically I am fumbling, like err where do I put these papers.

The trouble is my flat is small and I don't have space to put everything! Everywhere is full x

Always struggle to keep on top of it, the dust on the laminate is at the 'tumble weed' stage at the moment.

It almost seems like such a waste of the limited energy that you have doing something so mundane.

Will have to tackle it on the weekend.

Good luck with the bath.

You could always take short cuts. Antibacterial wipes are good to just wipe and throw away. They do floor wipes too.

I find declutering means there's less to clean. It might be worth getting a cleaner to do the first clean then you can just do little bits after.

I object to cleaning as there are so many books to read, and as they say boring women have clean houses, 😜 But even I have to admit defeat sometimes and do some, so I will limit myself to one task per day. For instance putting a load of washing on one day, putting it in the tumble dryer the next day. Hoovering downstairs one day, upstairs the next. Cleaning the bathroom one day, cleaning the kitchen the next, like that and you just go round and round. If you are too ill to do all this, what I found really important when I was severly ill was to change my bedding regularly, keep my bath and loo clean and have a little clear space in the kitchen. Everything else just waited, we and the animals did not catch any lurgy or die from food poisoning, hubby cleaned cat tray and did shopping. I think one time we used every plate, bowl, knife, fork, spoon, emergency plates and tupperware box! The other good thing is that when you feel better and you start hoovering etc everything looks great. But take it a bit at a time, and do those little bits that look great, like sorting out that pile of papers that I know everybody has got, stacked on the chair - or sorting out the chair in the bedroom that has loads of stuff dumped on it, or in my case, the floor. My mother is obsessed with cleaning and I was brought up in a very cold, sterile and unloving environment. My house is warm, messy and full of animals that sit on sofas. I know which one I am happier in, and as I say to my Mother, there is a difference between dirt and filth and a bit of dirt never harmed anyone, in fact it's good for the immune system. Hope this helps.

Housework?????

Actually, being serious, I know when I am better because my home starts looking tidy. As long as I keep on top of the washing up (every couple of days, or when I run out of cups if sooner), the washing (preferably once a week) and putting cleaner in the loo, the rest is just mess.
